How does the CareerID JD Score work?

A JD Score test is generated from the job description itself, so each role is assessed on its own required skills. It runs in four layers: L0 timed rapid multiple-choice for breadth, L1 per-skill micro, trap and scenario questions designed to catch memorisation, L2 hands-on execution using a real code runner and an in-browser SQL sandbox, and L3 AI-clustered real-world scenarios. The four layers combine into one 0–10 score at weights of 20%, 20%, 30% and 30%. Tests are proctored and generated in multiple parallel question sets so answers cannot be shared between candidates.

Does CareerID reject candidates automatically if they score below the cutoff?

No. The JD Score cutoff an employer sets is a soft ranking threshold, not an automatic filter. A candidate who scores at or above the cutoff is advanced to Shortlisted automatically, with a timeline entry and a notification to both sides. A candidate who scores below it is never auto-rejected and stays in the pipeline for the employer to review. This is deliberate: automatic rejection would reproduce the same blind gate that CGPA cutoffs and resume-keyword filters create.

What is CareerID Gem?

CareerID Gem is the live interview room built into CareerID, so employers do not leave the platform to interview a shortlisted candidate. A session carries audio, video and screen share alongside working assessment tools: a code editor with a real execution backend, an in-browser SQL sandbox, a shared whiteboard, timed multiple-choice, and rich-text and image answers. Interviews run against an auto-generated agenda, and every action — code runs, drawings, submitted answers, chat, files and captures — is recorded against the application as a reviewable artifact on a seekable timeline.

How do candidates track an application on CareerID?

Every application moves through five visible stages: Applied, Under review, Shortlisted, Interview and Selected, plus Rejected and Withdrawn. Each status change appends a timestamped entry to the application timeline and notifies the candidate, so progress is visible without contacting the employer. Candidates see their JD Score once the assessment is graded, and can withdraw an application at any point from the tracker.

Is CareerID free for candidates?

Yes. Candidates create a profile, apply to roles, take JD Score assessments and join interviews at no cost. CareerID charges on the employer side. Employers sign up with a work email address; free personal email providers are not accepted for recruiter accounts.
